Wren Fleece

From $17
Pattern No. 102

The Wren is an oversized crewneck sweatshirt with a large exaggerated shoulder yoke. Volumenous, slightly cropped sleeves are created by a deep box pleat at the opening. The neckband and cuffs were created with self fabric in mind but this quick and easy make also works well with ribbing.

Our patterns come in PDF format for use at home, copy shop or projecting with both size ranges included.

    Turned out great.

I sized down from my size on the size chart, and really liked the fit. I did add length (I'm 5'8") to the sleeves (1") and body (1"), and removed width from the cuff (1 1/2"). I color blocked it; it has the perfect style lines to do it with. I used sweatshirt fleece at about 10 oz, so it wasn't thin, but also wasn't structured. Instructions were good and the pattern pieces came together well. I didn't see a hem measurement suggested? I turned mine 3/4".

    Wren

I love my Wren fleece! It's not your average sweatshirt. Elevated casual is how I would describe it.

    Love my wren fleece

This pattern is really great and easy to construct. I was nervous about the yoke since it has a big curve but the instructions made it really easy to insert and all of the seems matched up exactly and there was no bunching! I first made a mock with my husband’s old polo shirts- it took 4 and it’s now easily my favorite shirt. I made a second wren fleece with a heavier weight fabric and the only edit I made was to the neck hole. The heavier fabric still came together super nicely and it turned out exactly how I wanted. I will definitely be making more- great pattern!

    wren fleece

I loved this pattern! It's a sweatshirt but not your standard one. It has flair and I love how you can fabric block with the top and bottom pattern pieces. I used bamboo french terry and it worked great.
