The Thompson Quilt is the quilted sister to the Thompson, a mackintosh style button front coat. Comfortably oversized with plenty of room for layering underneath with a second view (B) that finishes at mid calf. While the main view features a classic pointed collar a second option has been added for a detachable hood with a band collar.

 

Our patterns come in PDF format for use at home, copy shop or projecting with both size ranges included.

Needles : Denim/Heavy 90/14 and Universal 80/12

Detachable hood (option 2) : x6 buttons or snaps, 5/8" (15mm/24L)

3/4" Single fold bias tape, cut width 1 5/8" (4 cm) if using self bias with maker

1/2" Double fold bias tape, cut width 2 1/8" (5.5 cm) if using self bias with maker

Edgestitch foot (1/16", 1/4") (optional)

FABRIC RECOMMENDATION

For best results choose a light to medium weight woven fabric for the top and backing; cotton/linen/twill. For the batting choose one with a lower loft; cotton/wool. However, we believe you can make everything out of anything, feel free to contact us for advice if you're feeling adventurous.

This pattern is available in 2 size ranges; DD XS-XXL and JJ 1X-5X

Alexandra is wearing a size XL from the DD size range in cotton jacquard, View A. Her measurements are; 44", 38 1/2", 47 1/2"" at 5'4"
