The Brier a classic sailor cut pant minus all those buttons. They are slightly cropped (just enough to show off a good shoe or a bare ankle) with a clean, wide leg that's both tailored and relaxed. The real moment is in the trapunto topstitching on the waistband that give structure and "I have good taste" energy. Thoughtfully built to follow the body, not fight it, so you can get that clean iconic look and a fit that makes sense.

 

Our patterns come in PDF format for use at home, copy shop or projecting with both size ranges included. The DD range comes in sizes 0 - 20 and the JJ range comes in sizes 16 - 34.

    Best Fit Ihave had yet!

    These pants allow for sitting room without sagging in the rear or the knees. I made mine with a non-stretch 10 oz bull denim from Blackbird and I have been wearing them almost every day. The fabric was a little stiff at first but now has softened with washing. The legs are wide enough without being too wide which would have been hard to manage in this fabric. My machine had trouble in some places sewing through the many layers but that is more due to fabric choice. I am very happy with the pattern and already have fabric to make another pair. I did grade between sizes as I am more of a rectangle and chose pattern by hip measurement, grading up for the waist. NOTE (to self): Read the pattern thoroughly before sewing. I cut off what I thought was an extra bit of fabric overhang by the pocket and it turns out it was needed to make the pocket sit nicely. There are no errors in this pattern, it works great.

    Great pair of general purpose trousers

    As always with Daughter Jusy patterns, these trousers fitted me perfectly.

    I made these in purple canvas and they turned out great. Very comfortable and versatile.

    Excellent and clear instructions. Looking forward to more DaughterJudy patterns.

    Brier Pants - Great Pattern

    As someone who typically has to grade any type of bottoms, this pattern was an absolute delight. The sizing was perfect and I didn’t need to make any adjustments. It was definitely more challenging as this was the first pair of pants I’ve sewn with a button and zip fly, but I was able to successfully make them. I did use the help of some video tutorials for the zip fly portion. Otherwise, would purchase another pattern from DJ!

    Brier Pants

    The Brier pants are the pants pattern that has fit me the best. They fit so well- I made one pair and then immediately cut out two more pairs. I love them. I am a mom and this is the first time I didn’t need to do 5 toiles to get the perfect fit.
