The Genra is a classic in that unfussy, unprecious way. Structured but still relaxed showing off just enough of your decolletage. A seasonless staple that looks good slightly wrinkled and great with the sleeves rolled à la Jenna Lyons. The dress view is for when pants just aren't an option and looks great belted, unbelted, ankle length or knee length. The options are endless.

 

Our patterns come in PDF format for use at home, copy shop or projecting with both size ranges included. The DD range comes in sizes XS - XXL and the JJ range comes in sizes 1X - 5X.

Fabric Recommendation

This pattern was created for light to mid weight woven fabric; shirting/poplin/twill for an everyday look or silk/viscose/cupro for a slinkier look. However, we believe you can make everything out of anything, feel free to contact us for advice if you’re feeling adventurous.

    Perfect Shirt!

    I'm absolutely in love with this pattern! I've already completed five Genra shirts and I'm currently working on number six. What I appreciate most is the oversized fit—it gives me flexibility to experiment with different sizes depending on the style I'm going for. The instructions are clear and straightforward, making the construction process enjoyable, and the finished shirt is incredibly comfortable and easy to wear. Highly recommend!

    Perfect proportions

    I already owned several button up patterns before I bought this, but none of them had the right neckline proportions that I was looking for. Genra delivers. The ratio of the length of the V to the width of the revers is perfect. I made my usual forward & narrow shoulder adjustments. I have a large cup size so I found using a drapey fabric key to getting the polished by very chill look I was going for.

    Nice shirt, read sizing properly

    The shirt came out nice. I adjusted the pattern a bit because I used two layers of fabric. It was easy to put together and I like the style. I followed the suggested body to pattern measurements and think I would have preferred to go down a size but that is just an opinion. 4 stars because I had to do the home printing and assemble the pattern and a few sheets printed sideways and cut off sections of the pattern. I do not have a printer at home so this was a little frustrating, though I still managed to make the shirt. Instructions are also a little vague when attaching the yoke but if you have experience with this it would be fine.
