What I’m (hopefully) making in 2024
I realized in the last Loose Leaf that I listed today’s Loose Leaf as my “Make Nine” for 2024 but in reflection it was feeling forced. I don’t have exactly nine projects I want to get after this year and felt a bit of pressure for a second to fill those squares (completely self induced). I’ve spoken to some people in the past about sewing for self especially when you own a sewing pattern business. Or any business for that matter. Most of the time I’m sewing for shoots and I do fit most new styles in my size but even those sometimes aren’t a completely wearable toile and end up in the reclaim bin. If I’m lucky I’ll have the time to sew for myself. This year I’m trying to make it more of a priority and to carve out that time without feeling burned out. Will I achieve this? We shall see! [Happy to report that I’m currently wrapping photoshoot samples for next week that will cover styles for the remainder of the year!] To make it easier on myself and the workflow of future newsletters I’m rolling a few of these projects into them. Example : the denim Teague skirt. Some are for fun. Some are out of necessity. Some are to challenge myself because I too am always learning. Keeping this issue short as I wait at JFK for my flight back to the west coast but also what else more is there to say…..take a look! The Frankie Shop Adams Pant shorts (June Loose Leaf) - A hack many people have already done. I’m desperate for some relaxed fit shorts as I am historically a summer time pant wearer. I’ll also share how to make shorts out of the Worship Jeans and the differences in leg shape on a close fitting vs looser...
