The Lab - Skin Season

or at least the start of skin season
The Lab - Skin Season
Skin season is here! Well, almost. We’re in that illusion phase of spring, that sweater-and-shorts part of spring (a favorite micro season). Here in Upstate New York, it’s been oscillating between low 60’s and raining and upper 70’s and perfectly sunny, sans humidity. My electric bill has been deliciously low and my cherry tree is full of delicate little green baby cherries. On those sunny days I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible outside because that feeling of sun on your pale winter skin is seriously life affirming. I feel part plant as I start to photosynthesize back to life, bare feet in the grass though now simultaneously on 24/7 tick watch (hello east coast!). Of course this time of year has us flipping our closets (more on this subject coming in the Extracurricular later this month) and oh boy am I lacking in the summer clothes department. I think maybe I blacked out and sold off a bunch of stuff before I moved from the west coast because I have nothing. So much nothing that I will be speed sewing some things for an upcoming trip to Vegas/LA. And why is it always bottoms? Seriously, how did I get through last summer? To tide me over til my speed sewing extravaganza I had some lighter weight denim around and whipped up a short version of the Henry Skirt. It took me all of 2 hours, a yard and half of 60” fabric and my appreciation for skirts continues to grow. shirt is thrifted st. johns bay, shoes are a. emeryGet 20% off for 1 year!Bi-annual 20% discount on annual subscriptions for The Bulletin Board making it $40 instead of $50 (USD) is running through the end of the month.
