This is the shirt you pretend you found at a flea market in Provençe but actually it fits way better. Inspired by the classic French work shirts, it's relaxed with a front button placket, adjustable cuffs and a quiet structure that makes you feel instantly put together. The back features a subtle button and loop detail that lets you cinch the waist a bit going from loose and breezy to more figure hugging. The dress view is the ultimate summer cover up in a light poplin, perfect for sitting at corner cafes watching the locals stroll by.

Fabric Recommendation

For best results choose a woven fabric; shirting/poplin/twill for an everyday look or silk/viscose/cupro for a slinkier look. However, we believe you can make everything out of anything, feel free to contact us for advice if you’re feeling adventurous.

    Chic and unique!

    I love making and wearing shirts and am drawn to comfy styles with unique and clever details and the Bonnet delivers on all points. It’s well drafted and the instructions are clear and concise, just like all Daughter Judy patterns. I’m already planning my next Bonnet!

    Beautiful Bonnet

    I’ve just sewn up the Bonnet Shirt from

    Daughter Judy. As usual the instructions were excellent, and the pattern cutting supreme. I love the shape of the finished shirt, and the style lines around the shoulders. But what really makes my sewist’s heart sing are all the special details - like the button tab, sleeve vents, and back cinch situation. 10/10! Will make again!
